Recently in the Shadow Mountain Percussion section, we had been informed that we would no longer be marching at all for our field show entitled "Man of Steel". While we are not only being held back by not marching, we feel like everyone else in the band program would like to have a battery for our show. We have informed our instructor of the compromise and commitment that we are willing to give, all we need now is a stronger voice. If anyone else would like for us to have a battery please sign. Thank you. **We don't need donations**

The conversations with my fellow percussionists have shifted focus toward how we can best present our commitment to the program. I am currently organizing our specific proposals to show that we are ready for the extra work required to succeed on the field. Hearing your thoughts reinforces the idea that an active battery is a vital part of the show for everyone involved.

Seeing this level of engagement confirms that many of you share the belief that our percussion section belongs on the field. This collective interest gives us the necessary foundation to continue our conversation with the band leadership regarding the upcoming season.

As a member of a percussion section, I can say marching band season is the best part of my season and I could never imagine having that taken away. I may also add having a battery section helps keep the rest of the band in time
Best of luck to your battery section. I don't even know if I would still be in band if our school did not have a drumline. Drumline not only changed my life, but it made drumming become my biggest hobby and changed my life greatly (in a better way).
Cutting the Drumline is cutting the heart of the band. Don't do it.
Please allow drums
This really shouldn't happen. As a quad, I would be beyond mad.

I have just graduated as a senior from highschool and our last marching show was Man Of Steel. I am also in percussion and there were no percussion parts written for this show so I understand what is happening. What our band director decided to do was let us collaborate and come up with our own percussion parts. With this freedom, it helped our band win the sweepstakes at our marching contest. You have to let the drumline live on, man.
