I just hung up the phone and I am shaking because the council actually agreed to put the crossing in right by the school gates. It feels completely surreal that we pulled this off even though I spent so many nights worrying it would never actually happen. We should definitely …

The Pastures in Downley, High Wycombe is a dangerous and fast road.

There is a need for a pedestrian crossing outside of the Disraeli School.

We are calling for Buckinghamshire Council to install a pedestrian crossing and centre island outside of the school to improve safety.

I spent the morning watching traffic near the school gate and it honestly makes my stomach turn to see how fast people take that corner. My inbox is filling up with messages from other parents who have had near misses there which just confirms that we are all feeling the same nervous energy every single weekday.

I logged on this morning and just stared at the screen because I really cant believe how many people actually care about this road. It feels like the council might finally have to look our way since so many of you are shouting for the same safety measures I keep pacing around in my kitchen worrying about.

Not just a crossing but raise the kerbs back up and create a larger speed bump to make it more obvious that you should slow down for people crossing.

I think a crossing would be invaluable to our families at Disraeli School. We have a lot of children come to our school m, and have very little parking, so we need to encourage as many as possible to walk to school.

A crossing would make it safer for children and would help the pensioners and local residents to be safe crossing the pastures .as there has been a few people knocked over in the last few years

I started campaigning for this many years ago but have been constantly been pushed back because of cost. With the formation of a new unitary council, I am confident that there will be a different approach to the cost of safety and wellbeing of all.

This is really needed as they lolly pop person is risking his life everyday making sure children are safe. . Cars drive too fast and parking is dangerous too. County Council needs to do something before something terrible happens. Many people cross this busy road at other times everyone is at risk.

I have nearly run a child over here. I was driving quite slowly (had just turned out of the nearby junction) but the child ran across the road on her way to school - she didn’t walk up to the lollipop man - if she had it would’ve been safer - it was a close shave that left me very shaken up.

And more traffic calming please. People drive too fast and put small children in danger.
