Yes! I want to let Orlando city officials know that I support the Orlando Union Rescue Mission's efforts to enhance its ministries by developing a new Men's Center on the proposed site on Anderson Street.
The beautiful new Men's Center Campus, located just a few blocks from the current location, will include a completely self-contained courtyard allowing residents to enter the building away from the streetscape. A chapel is included together with classrooms for use in providing for expanded educational opportunities, spiritual training, and job placement assistance. There will also be a computer lab, study hall, a workout room and living space configured in a comfortable environment.
The Men's Center, with its beloved red cross, is an iconic downtown Orlando landmark and a beacon within the Parramore neighborhood. Still, many don't know the work of the Mission and are surprised to learn that the Men's Center is not just a typical homeless shelter - it's a pathway to a new life for those needing help.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The Orlando Union Rescue Mission is one of Central Florida's oldest and largest homeless service providers. The Mission provides for immediate physical needs -- including food, clothing and shelter -- however, our programs are designed to lead the homeless to permanent independence built upon a personal relationship with Christ.
Since 1948, the Orlando Union Rescue Mission's purpose is to bring the hungry, hurting and homeless to a new life, new goals and a new future in Christ.

The volume of support for the Anderson Street project has reached a level that city planning officials can no longer ignore. I am currently finalizing a formal briefing document to present at the next council hearing to ensure these signatures are properly entered into the public record.

Keep up the good work guys. This center is going to be a huge blessing for the men who really need a second chance.
The Mission has done so much for this city. About time they got a better facility to work out of!
Build it. They need the space for the computer lab and training. It helps people get jobs.
The work they do is life changing. My brother went through their program and he is a totally new person today. Please let them build!!
parramore is lucky to have them. stop blocking good things from happening just because people are scared of change.
