With its latest firmware upgrade (v83) the Gocycle e-bike company forces its customers to downgrade the maximum speed of the e-bike from the current 40 km/h to 25 km/h. If you don't want that (e.g. because you've payed a lot of money for that feature when you bought the bike), then you're unable to upgrade to the new app, that gives you a dashboard on your smartphone.

So Gocycle "leaves behind" its current customers. They have to stay with the current firmware if they want to continue to get the initial speed functionality. They have to refrain from any service in an official Gocycle service centre, or they risk being reset to the new firmware without asking!

This is unacceptable for an expensive e-bike as the Gocycle! Customers should be left with the choice and responsability of deciding to allow 40 km/h as maximum speed, or to limit it to 25 km/h, and hence abandon the speedelec aspect of the bike. As is and has been the case since the initial version of the Gocycle!
