Petition for the Removal of Robert Shields and Josh Hadley from Leadership of the Green Party of Alaska

We, the undersigned members of the Green Party of Alaska, submit this formal petition requesting the immediate removal of Robert Shields and Josh Hadley from their positions within the party leadership.

Grounds for Removal:

We believe that Robert Shields and Josh Hadley are unfit to continue in their leadership roles due to actions that have severely undermined the democratic processes, transparency, and functionality of the Green Party of Alaska. These actions include, but are not limited to:

• Blocking access to online meetings for current and former party leaders and members, thereby preventing their participation in party decisions and elections.
• Creating an environment of exclusion and obstruction, in direct contradiction to the Green Party’s core values of transparency, inclusivity, and grassroots democracy.
• Unilaterally removing members from leadership roles without a vote or consultation with the Steering Committee or party officers.
• Changing the Green Party of Alaska’s official contact information with the State of Alaska to Robert Shields’ private contact information without authorization or a vote from the Steering Committee or officers.
• Centralizing control of party communications, records, and digital assets without accountability, transparency, or oversight.

Justification for Petition Process:

Under normal circumstances, party leadership would be subject to replacement through democratic elections. However, due to the current leadership’s obstruction—particularly by restricting member access to online meetings and internal communications—many members are unable to participate in the standard election process. This undemocratic behavior makes it impossible to carry out fair elections or administrative decisions through regular channels, thus necessitating the use of this petition as a mechanism for restoring order and integrity to the party.

Demands and Corrective Actions Requested:

In addition to the immediate removal of Robert Shields and Josh Hadley from party leadership, we, the undersigned, respectfully demand the following corrective actions be implemented without delay:

1. Immediate Elections: That the Green Party of Alaska organize and hold an open and accessible election for new party leadership, with proper notice given to all verified party members and full transparency in the process.
2. Official Communications Redirected: That the State of Alaska and any affiliated agencies or institutions cease all official communications with Robert Shields on behalf of the Green Party of Alaska, and that his personal contact information be removed from all party-related public records.
3. Transfer of Party Assets: That Robert Shields be required to promptly transfer all party-related documents, bank accounts, email accounts, credentials, website domain and hosting access, social media accounts and administrative privileges, and any other materials or digital assets belonging to the Green Party of Alaska to the newly elected leadership team.

We, the undersigned, call upon the Green Party of Alaska to honor the spirit and letter of this petition and restore accountability, transparency, and grassroots participation to our organization.
