we actually did it and the restrictions are being lifted so businesses can finally open back up. im so glad we kept pushing because your support is the only reason this moved forward. stay sharp to make sure things actually stay open now.

Governor Pritzker:
During these difficult times we have appreciated your concern for the health of the people throughout Illinois. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, information was in short supply and the worst case estimates of epidemiologists were worrisome to all. However, as reality has taken the place of speculation, it has become clear that the health risks associated with reopening our society in a sensible fashion are manageable while the psychological, spiritual and economic damage to families, employees, small businesses, local governments and the state itself are becoming overwhelming. Without a healthy society and economy to support it, even the most well-led health system will fail.
Thomas Jefferson is credited with having said, “Government closest to the people serves the people best.” NOW IS THE TIME to give heed to that wisdom. Allow local governments at the county and municipal levels to determine when and on what basis the businesses and other institutions in their communities can reopen. Let the people of the great state of Illinois get back to work!

im still reading through all the stories people are leaving in the comments and it really breaks my heart how much everyone is struggling right now. just know that i am working on getting our message directly to the offices that need to hear it most.

i honestly cant believe how much momentum this has picked up lately. seeing so many people agree that it is time for our local leaders to take the wheel is pretty incredible and it really shows how much we all want to get back to work.

Businesses in the hospitality industry have been operating on a carryout basis, which cannot even sustain fixed expenses much less allow for profit and return for the service they provide. People are now well acclimated to taking precautions and, if allowed to patronize establishments in person, will show their appreciation by attending their favorites establishments prudently.
Please use common sense and wisdom to allow businesses to reopen. As a Registered nurse I am embarrassed by the way medical science has been abused by the ruling party to hurt its citizens.
Consumers are living in fear of a virus that largely has run its course. As a consequence, more people are at risk of not only loss of health, but many business owners are at risk of losing their livelihoods. And for those who work for these small businesses, they may lose any income opportunity as well, diving the whole state into a depressed economy that may have long lasting implications for the state. This cannot go on any longer!!
I strongly disagree with Governor Ptitzker’s actions and his plan. He is harming in the name of help and then insulting us by visiting 2 other states! Free Illinois and open all businesses. I trust people to open safely and I trust people to act responsibly.
Please consider opening small businesses in areas not as affected by corona virus. You are destroying these family’s and communities.
