To our Public Servants:
Thank you for your service in these very tough times. We know you are facing extremely difficult decisions and we are praying for you to have wisdom.
We the people of California ask the state, city and county offices to immediately suspend unconstitutional executive health orders and reopen the economy. The orders that were cited were meant to stop looting and crime in a disaster. It is unprecedented in the history of our country for these orders to be applied to a virus and to control the entire population. This is a gross overreach of power. Health orders do not suspend the individual’s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We believe government has a compelling interest to take action to attempt to save lives from Covid19 as long as that action is narrowly tailored and least restrictive. The measures that were taken were broadly tailored and the most restrictive. Officials did not give the people the ability to be good citizens and take protective measures that we thought were necessary to protect our families and employees.
While we do support actions to “flatten the curve,” we do NOT support flat-lining our economy and quarantining our Constitution.
We fully support the common-sense, voluntary efforts of social distancing & conscientious personal measures, limits on large public gatherings, everyone who can work from home doing so, and the most vulnerable staying home.
On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued a stay at home order. That stay at home order specifically says "all state residents are to immediately HEED the current state public health directives". Heed means to take into consideration. It is not mandatory and cannot be enforced. According to the Dhillon Law Group, "the public health directive carries no legal weight." We do NOT support “stay-at-home” or “shelter-in-place” orders for entire counties or the entire state. We do NOT support threatening citizens with fines or jail for leaving their homes. We do NOT support mandates that prevent people from going to work when they can use common-sense precautions to abide by social distancing and other necessary measures.
We do NOT support health recommendations for an indefinite amount of time that drastically affect the financial stability of the small business community.
We do NOT agree with county officials deciding who is "essential" and who is "non-essential" when they have no Constitutional power to do so.
As of Monday, April 13, 2020, there has been 651 deaths out of 39 1/2 million people - numbers that are lower than the normal flu. Based on these numbers, we request the economy be reopened with common sense safety measures in place including social distancing and good hygiene. Businesses cannot sustain being shut down any longer.
Thank you for hearing the voice of the people. We are asking for immediate action to restore our constitutional liberties; while continuing to take action to fight the virus in a scientifically based, economically rational way.

We're ready to go back to work and observe caution as we meet one another. If we don't our State is going broke. Businesses in our community are closing permanently. HELP! Get us back to normal. If sick stay home.
The toll the current “strategy” will take on our society’s mental and financial health far outweighs the effects of the virus. I completely support some of the measures to keep our vulnerable populations safe as outlined in this petition, but the social control has gone too far.
We want our freedoms back our governor is going to destroy California with his 6 point plan to reopen the state we want and have the right to our religious freedom and want to gather together in our churches. We atand behind the Constitution of the United States 100%
There are ways to return to business while providing safe measures—keep the elderly and at risk quarantined if desired, wear masks, wash hands, and stay home when sick! This is a gross overreach of power at this point!
I want my freedom back and I want Gavin to explain why we live in economic poverty through taxes and fees. We are closely comparable to Texas in many ways. Californians are flocking there and realize they have 50% more income.
Our constitution guarantees "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." This blanket, unconsidered, lockdown goes against our very basic rights.
The toll of destroying the local economies will cause more pain and suffering than covid-19 every could.

My business I work so hard for is dying by the day because of this stay home affair. Let the people make their own Choices and stop taking our freedoms away over something that has less than 2% mortality rate. I am more afraid of not being able to provide a living for my family
