I have been standing at that intersection every morning this week and the near misses I witness are terrifying. My neighbors keep sending me their own stories of close calls and it confirms that we cannot wait for a tragedy to force the state to act.

Seeing this many neighbors agree that our intersection is a danger is both validating and heartbreaking. It proves that my fear for our community is shared by so many who drive this road every day.

There are no fewer than 6 curb cuts in this one area all feeding in to route 9. Its incredibly dangerous for pedestrians, and bikers, as well as frustrating for cars.
I am a resident of Cambridge Drive, and drive through that intersection every day, making a dangerous left turn onto Route 9 from Amherst. It is indeed a problem intersection, owing to several other streets, and a deli parking lot, feeding in nearby, which increases volume and often interferes with visibility.
There have been several accidents at this intersection involving many different cars from one of three bad angles. There was even a pedestrian killed at this same intersection a few years back. We need this light before anyone else is injured or worse yet another person dies.
This intersection is so very dangerous. It is difficult to make left turns out of Amherst Road and Firehouse Lane, due to regular, heavy traffic, and the fact that the two roads are not directly across from each other causes even more of a hazard. A better traffic management system is required.
With 4 business entrances adjacent to two street entrances, often traffic flow does not allow a left turn AT ALL to go north on Rt 9 safely. This means that one must turn right, and turn around in a business parking lot on the south side of the intersection and then head north from that point. Multiple near miss rear-end accidents with cars not slowing down behind me as I signal to turn into the neighborhood from Rt. Speed limit of 30mph also not observed by Rt 9 traffic making pulling out of the intersection dangerous as well.
This is a very dangerous intersection. I have witnessed accidents there several times! Will nothing be done until someone gets killed!
About time. Let's hope this doesn't become a Kelly Blvd. Issue Much needed for safety

This is incredibly dangerous, with speeding cars, no visibility, and incoming cars from another side street. There is no way to make a safe turn. It's also near several centers with children's programs, a dance school, an art program at the Chocolate Factory, and a Kindermusik class. Driving with children on this road is particularly terrifying, and I hope DOT will, at the very least, provide safer signage.
