There are many vacant and blighted properties in our Blue Bell Hill Community, including 6056 Bridget Street. These homes are a safety issue for the neighborhood, as well as an eyesore. The home at 6056 Bridget Street was demolished a couple of years ago leaving a garage at the rear of the lot. This property is not used in accordance with the zoning code, it is zoned residential but currently being used for a business. The owner is using the property as storage for construction materials and as a dump site. This property is dangerous, hazardous, and highly concerning to those who live in our Community. The Blue Bell Hill Civic Association through this petition calls on Councilman Jones and the City Planning Commission to ensure that 6056 Bridget Street is rehabilitated and restored to use in a manner that is consistent with our Community and mindful of the impact on the adjacent Wissahickon Park land. Please support the Blue Bell Hill Civic Association's efforts to address vacant and blighted properties in Blue Bell Hill by signing this petition.

Why is there no enforcement of the zoning violation posed by this commercial use garage in a residential neighborhood?
This property a real estate tax delinquency amounting to $20,135.55 in addition to its blight on the community. Taxes haven't been paid since 2002 including 2016.
Many other properties in area are abandoned or neglected including 619 W. Naomi with a fake address for mail at 628 Walnut
This residential property which is being used by the owner to dump and store building materials is seriously compromising the safety and maintenance of our community.
This property has gotten off the hook for way too many years. This is not a commercial zone, yet the owner uses the garage for his business. Who's in charge here?!!!

The 4 car garage is built right against the property line. Also, raccoons lift a portion of the roof and crawl into the building.
