Our 5th grade students deserve a promotion! As parents we worked hard cultivating good students, gave out time volunteering, money for various functions and our students worked very hard the last 6 years to achieve the next level of their educational success. We deserve to watch and experience the pride and joy of them moving forward. Our kids are transitioning from little guys and gals to big tweens and it is a momentous occasion for all. Every elementary school in Keizer is having a celebration where parents our invited except for Keizer Elementary. 5th grade promotions have been canceled over the last 4 years at Keizer elementary. The idea that we have to be "fair" to the kids who get no flowers or balloons during the event from their families and other kids do is a poor excuse. This is a moment when trying to be "fair" turns out unfair for all.
