West 57th Street NYC 10019 that has recently closed down without notice .hundreds of customers who have business and personal mail and packages deliver there have no access. Weeks of mail and packages are LOCKED
inside the West 57th Street UPS store location.
Customers were given NO notice that this location was being closed even
though the owners had all our email and phone numbers on file. Clearly
this is unacceptable.
Many people have business and have time-sensitive documents that must be accessed NOW!
WE DEMAND THAT ACCESS BE GIVEN TO CUSTOMERS TO GET THEIR MAIL AND VALUABLE PACKAGES.

Many busy New Yorkers rent private mailboxes in order to ensure that they will have quick access to time-sensitive mail, vital documents, and important packages/parcels.
Many small business owners/individual entrepreneurs prefer private mailboxes to P.O. Boxes, because it projects a more professional image. Additionally, many New Yorkers who must change addresses frequently due to the difficulty in finding a long-term, affordable living situation use private mailbox rental address as their “stable” address. This is vital when looking for employment.
Over the past month, 2 UPS Stores that provide Mailbox Rental and UPS/Fedex package deliveries have suddenly shut down. These UPS stores closed without giving their customers any notice. Hundreds of New Yorkers are now without access to their US mail or UPS/Fedex packages. Some people use these mailboxes to receive business related document, social security checks, time-sensitive items, etc.
Some sort of legislation is needed to protect the rights of private mailbox renter: A Private Mailbox Renters Bill of Rights”
1) All customers who rent private mailboxes must be given the legal name, address, and phone number of current owners/operators of mailbox rental facility.
2) All customers who rent private mailboxes must be notified in writing of any ownership change.
3) All customers who rent private mailboxes must be given two weeks prior notice (in writing) of any extended closure that might impede their access to time-sensitive mail, vital documents, and important packages/parcels.
4) All private mailbox rental owner/operators must post a contact number that is visible through the window of their mailbox rental facility.

The owner is shameful in his treatment of customers. No phone service for months. He refuses to answer his phone or return calls. If Sean forgets and answers his phone he then acts like he can't hear hear you. Extremely unprofessional behavior from someone who purports to offer business solutions to small business owners.
my package was never relocated to 888-c and is still inside the store.
I agree that access should be provided, so we can retrieve mail and packages. However, unless we can notifiy the owner of this demand, it's falling on deaf ears. Does anyone know the full name of the owner or any way to contact him? We'll need that information in order to pursue any action, legal or otherwise.

Will help in anyway Ups corp says they aren't responsible and took my information for follow up. I heard/went to/gave my contact info to the usps on 52nd just west of 8th package pick up area as they said they have crates of mail that have bend diverted to them from 331 w 57th. We need to organize. I will be at Starbucks on 57th across the street from 331 w. 57th tomorrow Thursday 3/6/14 at noon-2pm to gather names, numbers, and start an organized group so we can have strength in numbers. Please join if you can. If not I will take contact info to compile for our next move as a group

Heard all packages that are to be received there are now being handled by the usps station on west 52nd. This usps location is so overwhelmed by sudden influx of mail they can't go through their containers yet .... So we wait

As of March 5, 2014, there is a new sign on the door of the defunct UPS store, at 331 West 57th Street, stating that all mail and packages are now located at the existing UPS store located at 888-C 8th Avenue. I verified that the deliveries from the old store are indeed at the store on 8th Avenue, though they have not been sorted yet. We cannot access them yet. I was told by employees there that the deliveries should be ready by Friday (March 7) in the AM.
