Please DO NOT take away the funding for TAMS. TAMS is the shining and bright star in Texas education system.
TAMS is a wonderful program for talented science and math students, who are willing to explore in these areas.
The benefit for these students can not be expressed in dollars, but the funding makes it possible for them to benefit this unique program.
This school has changed my life for the better. The opportunities it has presented for me and my peers are countless. Please don't take away the funding and take away these opportunities for so many families.
My son went there and I cant even begin to tell you how much he grew. its such a special place for kids who just need a different kind of challenge. keep the funding please!!!

The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) allows high school aged Texas students, who are gifted in Math and Science to complete a curriculum of college coursework through the University of North Texas. "The establishment of this innovative program is from national concern among educators about anticipated shortages of students who would be sufficiently well prepared in mathematical and scientific problem solving." Funding should not be discontinued !!
