We the undersigned support the adoption of the 2015 International Residential Code without amendments. As a Code Enforcement Official I fully support the provisions of the IRC that would require the installation of residential sprinklers in new and substantially refurbished 1 and 2 family homes.

As a career fire officer I have witnessed the tragedy fire can bring. Residential sprinklers can and will put a stop to these tragedies.

I support residential sprinklers due to the fact that the maunfacturers reluctancy to coat the lightweight building materials with a fire retardant and all the plastics in the home today.

With today's lightweight construction, residential sprinkler systems should be required to protect residents, firefighters, and property.
