The council has officially voted to make the 20mph zone a permanent fixture. I am currently coordinating with the traffic department to ensure the new signage remains compliant with local safety standards.

As you are aware the council have set a temporary road traffic calming zone around our school, narrowing the lanes and reducing the speed to 20mph.

This ensures a safer area for all our children's journey into school.

With future plans for the Harrow being converted to the school canteen, safe crossing is all the more imperative.

Journey times for all road users have no doubt increased slightly, and this is something the council will be closely monitoring. With this in mind there is a petition to revert the road back to its previous restrictions.

If you support, and are in favour of keeping the road calming restrictions in place, ensuring the continued safety of our children, please sign the petition.

Many thanks.

I have officially requested a formal review of the council traffic monitoring data to ensure our position is represented during the upcoming project assessment. We are currently preparing a briefing document that outlines the safety risks associated with reverting to the previous road configuration.

totally agree. seen way too many near misses with kids crossing. the speed needs to stay down.

Slow down! It's a school zone for crying out loud. If you're running late just leave your house 5 minutes earlier.

My son walks this route every day and honestly the traffic is so much calmer now. PLEASE keep it.

Keep the 20 zone. People fly down this road way too fast when school gets out. Its not worth a life just to shave a minute off a commute.

Dumb to even think about changing this back. safety of the kids is number 1.
