Our classmate, John Gabriel Tucker, is requesting our support in receiving a 1998 Citadel class ring. Gabe was was unable to complete his senior year due to financial hardship. Nonetheless, he has always supported and continues to support The Citadel and our class. He attended ring night with Hotel Company, supported us all at graduation, and has participated in multiple reunions. Since leaving The Citadel, Gabe completed his undergraduate degree at Anderson University and served in the Army as an enlisted soldier and officer. He is now the South Carolina Army National Guard Liaison Officer and Army ROTC instructor at The Citadel. Receiving a class ring is important to Gabe and I hope you will join me in endorsing this petition so we can move this request forward to the Board of Directors for consideration.

I have been navigating the bureaucracy behind the scenes to get this proposal in front of the right people. It is slow and exhausting work but seeing what Gabe has given to his country makes this fight necessary. We are staying on this until he gets what he earned.

I had the opportunity to serve under Major Tucker as my Company Commander. He is a great leader and great man who embodies the core values of The Citadel. A true Citadel Man and a great representation of our institution. We can rest easy knowing he is training future officers that carry the mark of The Citadel. The fact that he has remained loyal and connected to our alma mater through alumni class gatherings and ultimately working and supporting our institutions, is enough for me to support this request.
Gabe Tucker was in H Company with me and I completely endorse this petition to award him his ring. He was a model cadet during his time at The Citadel and has continued to represent the institution incredibly.
