Unearranted and unsustainable pest control regime. This poison is not just a vertebrate poison, it will poison the invertebrate population - food source for kiwi for example. It is not just a mammalian poison - 1080 is highly acutely toxic to birds. This is ecocide and supported by government propaganda.
PLEASE. Leave this pristine forest/bush alone it's doing quite well without being poisoned. Do you have an agenda to poison the whole of New Zealand and leave nothing for your children. SAD
Poison is poison...everything that goes onto the land eventually gets into our water...the water we all drink! Who is testing our water for 1080, brodifacoum, glyphosate etc?
The indiscriminate and insane use of this deadly poison in areas clearly accessible by foot has got to stop. No one knows the long term effects because they have never been studied.
We have to ask ourselves...why is this heinous poison banned in other countries. I spoke to a guy a couple of days ago who lost his dog to 1080...he said it was a horrendous, slow, agonizing death and btw it's been proved to kill everything in it's path including our native birds! We're poisoning paradise!

This poison needs to leave NZ altogether....go back to trapping and create an industry,crazy,lots of people moaning about no jobs..and its in our waterways but govt wants farmers to take the blame..time to stop this crap !!!
