We are asking for clear school zone signs and proper traffic regulations at and around Terra Academy.
Terra Academy is a public school with several kids, 600 or more each year, and there is no busing system. That means many families have to drive, drop off, and pick up children in the same space that already carries normal everyday traffic. Without clear school zone signs, drivers do not have the guidance they need, and the area becomes confusing and dangerous for students, parents, and staff.
Those of us who use this area have seen close calls. We know what it feels like to worry while crossing, turning, or waiting in a place where traffic is not clearly marked or properly managed. A school zone should not feel like a free-for-all. Children should be able to arrive at school safely, and families should not have to face that stress every day.
We ask that clear school zone signs be installed and that traffic regulations be put in place around Terra Academy as soon as possible. This is a basic safety step, and it would make a real difference for everyone who passes through the area. Better markings, clearer driver guidance, and proper traffic control would help protect the school community and make the area safer for all.
Our children go to Terra. We started when the school started. We do not understand why this is such a hard subject. Being a part of Vernal Utah we should be able to have our kids be safe. Every single school in Vernal have these rights. To have posted signs and safe cross walks to be able to keep their kids safe. We are asking for rights that should have been afforded us when the school started. Please help us understand why we have to sign a petition to be able to get this worked out.
