We call on the school to reverse the dismissal procedure to what was already in place. What happened today is putting children at risk and causing confusion for families. Children are being released from school before dismissal time without any notification to parents, and that is not acceptable.
School should be a place where families can trust that children are accounted for and kept safe until the proper time to go home. When students are let out early without notice, parents are left scrambling, children are left unsupervised or waiting in the wrong place, and the whole system breaks down. Even when the intent is to manage a busy day, the result is worry, missed pick-ups, and unnecessary harm to families who depend on clear communication.
We are asking for a clear, reliable dismissal process that parents can count on. No child should be released early without advance notice to their family. If dismissal times change, parents must be told right away and in a way that is easy to understand. The school should also make sure staff are following the same procedure every day so that children are not lost in the confusion of everyone being everywhere.
This is a simple matter of safety, respect, and basic communication. Families deserve better, and children deserve to be dismissed in an orderly way that keeps them secure and accounted for.
It is very important for parents to be informed of any changes. No student should be dismissed early without a parent’s consent. There should be a better dismissal system and parents feedback should be taken into consideration of those changes
