We are calling on the council to construct a raised crosswalk or speed bumps on Riley Road near Parkerville Primary School, at the corner of Riley and Dura Road, to make this area safe for everyone who uses it.
Vehicles are hooning and speeding up and down Riley Road just down from Parkerville Primary School. This creates a serious risk for the Parkerville community. Many locals cross here every day, including people walking their dogs, children walking to and from school, and families crossing the road to head to the Parky.
This spot is already a place where people need to cross often, and the danger is clear. A child was hit on a bicycle on the way home from school at this exact location. It is only a matter of time before someone is badly hurt if nothing is done.
We ask the council to act now and install the traffic calming needed at this crossing. A raised crosswalk or speed bumps would help slow vehicles down and protect the many people who rely on this road every day.
Please sign this petition to help keep our families, children, and neighbours safe.
My child also uses this road to ride home from school. Definitely support this request!
