We are women, mothers and workers in Kempton Park, Rhodesfield and Olifantsfontein. We are scared.
Since 15 July 2025, FIVE bodies of women have been found in the same area near the R21 and behind a hotel in Rhodesfield. Police said the victims were found half-naked with bruises. One woman found on 10 September is still not identified and is at Germiston mortuary. Police have warned women not to walk alone.
We are tired of being scared to go to work.
WE DEMAND:
1. 24-HOUR PROTECTION UNTIL THE KILLER IS CAUGHT
We demand SAPS and Ekurhuleni Metro Police put 24-hour guarding, lights and CCTV on the R21 service road, Rhodesfield hotel area and Olifantsfontein site. Not just patrol cars passing by. Real officers, K9 and National Intervention Unit on the ground to protect women walking to work at 4am and at night.
2. SPECIAL INVESTIGATORS AND THOROUGH SEARCH
We thank SAPS for the task team led by Major-General Khumalo. Now make it stronger. Bring Investigative Psychology profilers, Special Task Force trackers, forensic DNA experts, and drone teams to search the whole R21 veld so we don't find body number 6. Give us a public update every Friday.
3. NO BAIL, LIFE IN PRISON IF CONVICTED
We demand any suspect arrested for these murders be charged as Schedule 6 - which means bail must be very hard to get. If convicted, we demand life imprisonment with no parole for at least 25 years, as the law allows.
We don't want to be next. Guard us now and find these animals!
I am a woman and I have a small baby girl. It is important to me that my baby grows in a better world where men who feel the need to do horrendous things to women be held accountable and pay for their actions. I am so tired of having to be scared to live just becsuse some rotten man might decide to do whatever he wants with me and will never face any consequences, it is important to me that my daughter never has to call our family members and let them know that I didn't make it home. Enough now.
