We, the undersigned residents, business owners, and stakeholders of Pacific Harbour, respectfully petition the Fiji Police Force to provide a dedicated police vehicle and critical resources for the Pacific Harbour Community Police Post.
Pacific Harbour is a large and growing community with a significant residential population, numerous tourism operators, businesses, and visitors. In recent years, residents have experienced regular burglaries and other criminal activities that demand a timely and effective police response to ensure community safety and security.
Currently, Pacific Harbour Police Officers often rely on assistance from the Navua Police Station when responding to incidents. This dependence creates delays, particularly when officers must wait for a vehicle to become available or for officers to travel from Navua. These delays undermine the ability of police to respond promptly to emergencies, investigate incidents while evidence is fresh, and provide the visible policing that deters crime.
A dedicated police vehicle based at the Pacific Harbour Community Police Post would significantly enhance the capability of local officers to respond rapidly to emergency calls and reports of crime, conduct regular patrols throughout the Pacific Harbour area, improve community policing and engagement with residents and businesses, deter criminal activity through increased police visibility, and support the overall safety and wellbeing of our community.
We also request that the Pacific Harbour Community Police Post be equipped with other critical resources including computers, printers, and communication equipment necessary for effective operations.
As a key tourism destination and an important residential area, Pacific Harbour deserves the resources required to maintain public confidence and community safety. The absence of dedicated resources places both residents and visitors at risk and undermines the effectiveness of local policing efforts.
We respectfully request that the Fiji Police Force allocate a dedicated vehicle and essential equipment to the Pacific Harbour Community Police Post as a matter of priority. We thank the Fiji Police Force for its continued service and commitment to protecting our community and trust that this request will receive favourable consideration.
I’ve reported one time and it was hard without transport officers can’t arrive on time to stop the crime
