To Whom It May Concern,

We, the undersigned parents, families, supporters, and community members, respectfully request that the 10-and-Under (10U) Championship Football Game be held at Dogwood Park in Goose Creek, South Carolina, rather than Hanahan Recreation Park.

Goose Creek has earned the first seed in the league, and we believe the championship location should give serious consideration to the team’s accomplishments throughout the season. Our players have worked hard, demonstrated dedication, and represented their community with pride. Hosting the championship at Dogwood Park would be a meaningful way to recognize their efforts and celebrate the community behind them.

We understand that venue decisions may involve scheduling, facilities, and league requirements. We respectfully ask the league officials and organizers to reconsider the location and give Goose Creek’s Dogwood Park fair consideration as the host site for this important game.

Our goal is to support our young athletes, celebrate their achievements, and create a memorable championship experience for both teams, their families, and the community.

Please sign this petition to show your support for hosting the 10U Championship Football Game at Dogwood Park in Goose Creek!

Let’s give our young athletes the opportunity to compete for the championship in a community that is proud to stand behind them.

There is also a safety concern with artificial turf that needs to be considered

October 21, 2026

Below is some provided links regarding why natural grass is safer than artificial turf https://matthewprovenchermd.com/turf-war-study-backs-natural-grass-as-less-injurious-than-artificial-surface/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11363235/ https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field We understand that Dogwood Park's field may not be as nice to look at as Hanahan's new turf but that does not mean that it is safer. Our main priority as a community is to keep our children as safe as possible while playing a high contact sport.

Championship game should be held at #1 seed’s home field, and if not, a neutral location. Hanahan’s turf is not conducive to a fair game.

The turf in Hanahan is so different compared to the other fields. It’s an unfair advantage and a safety risk to the teams that are unfamiliar with the turf.

As the first seed team, Goose Creek should host the game. If the match-up is meant to not provide either team an advantage, Monks Corner should be utilized.

Home field advantage is a big deal. Its only fair that the number one seed get home field advantage.

The #1 team should be playing at their field.
