To the Pulaski County Board of Education,

We, the undersigned parents, athletes, coaches, alumni, and community members, respectfully ask you to reconsider the decision to no longer allow the Oak Hill Elementary Wolverines to practice on the football field they have used for more than 17 years. This field is more than just a piece of land. It is part of our community's history, a place where generations of athletes have learned discipline, teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. It is where countless hours of hard work have taken place and where memories will last a lifetime.

Let's not forget the victories this field has helped make possible. The wins, the celebrations, the lessons learned through adversity, and the pride of representing the Oak Hill Wolverines are all part of this field's legacy. Those accomplishments came from the dedication of our athletes, the commitment of our coaches, and the support of our families. This field has been part of that journey, and its importance cannot simply be measured by the ground it occupies. Removing this practice space means removing a longstanding part of our athletic tradition.

We understand that parking concerns may need to be addressed, but we strongly believe there should be an opportunity to find a reasonable compromise before an entire group of young athletes loses access to a field that has served them for so long. Should one person's complaint about parking outweigh the needs and opportunities of an entire group of student-athletes? Could designated parking, adjusted schedules, or other reasonable arrangements resolve the issue? We ask the school board to consider these alternatives and bring the affected parties together to find a solution that addresses concerns without unnecessarily sacrificing our children's opportunities.

Our athletes deserve to know that their hard work matters and that their community stands behind them. Youth sports teach lessons that extend far beyond football, including leadership, responsibility, respect, sportsmanship, and the value of working toward a common goal. Our coaches, families, and supporters invest time and effort into helping these children succeed, both on and off the field. We are not asking the school board to ignore anyone's concerns. We are asking you to listen, consider the full impact of this decision, and give our Wolverines and their supporters a voice before ending a tradition that has lasted more than 17 years.

We respectfully call on the Pulaski County Board of Education to reconsider this decision, meet with our community, and work toward a fair solution that allows the Oak Hill Elementary Wolverines to continue practicing on this field. Seventeen-plus years of tradition, countless hours of hard work, and victories worth celebrating deserve a meaningful conversation and a genuine effort to compromise. This is about more than parking. It is about our children, our history, our community, and the future of our athletes. Please stand with us in protecting the opportunities of our young Wolverines. Our field. Our tradition. Our athletes. LET OUR WOLVERINES PLAY!

Sign below to show your support for the Oak Hill Elementary Wolverines and their continued use of the practice football field. 🏈

It seems counterintuitive to displace an entire football team and disrupt a beloved community program merely to accommodate the grievances of a single individual regarding parking. Rather than penalizing the league, would it not be far more prudent to simply optimize or relocate the parking arrangements themselves? Let us preserve this valuable space for our youth and athletes.

Been there 16 years on the field, that’s where the kids go to school at and is more convenient than moving to another school. What now? What happens if one of the Oak Hill kids gets in a car wreck going to another’s schools field to play??? Plenty of parking at the high school for adults, just can be lazy

As a student of the first 4th grade class @OHES kids have always utilized that field for football practices, other sport activities, recess and my very highschool gym class used that field as seniors. That field has always been utilized. I’ve drove around it for years without issue, some of my family members, and great friends practice football on that field and should be able to continue to. Football is an OHES tradition, that field has always been part of that very tradition.

It is unfortunate that the actions of one individual, who is unwilling to exercise patience or simply drive around, could jeopardize something that benefits so many. We should not allow one person’s behavior to take away something positive and meaningful from our children and our community.

As the League Rep for the Oakhill Football Team I’m especially partial to this. I have listen to these players as they know they may lose their field and it is breaking their hearts. I beg of you please sign this position to help us to keep our field, to keep this tradition, to make these kids feel like they are being heard and that you care.
