We are asking our school to allow prom, or some kind of graduation night, so our students can celebrate the hard work they have put in.
It feels unfair that we study, push through stress, and do our best, but still do not get a proper chance to mark the end of our school years. A celebration like this matters because it gives students something to look forward to, something joyful to remember, and a chance to close this chapter together. Other co-ed schools are able to have prom, so this should not be treated as something impossible for us.
If the concern is money, then there are practical ways to make it work. One option is to have a joint prom with our neighbouring schools, Ngee Ann and Dunman. That could lower costs and still give students a meaningful night to celebrate.
We are not asking for anything extravagant. We are asking for a fair and simple way to recognise students’ achievements and let us leave school with a sense of pride. Please let us have prom, or at least some sort of graduation night. It would mean a lot to the students who have worked so hard and deserve to celebrate together.
Prom is a once in a lifetime memory for our cohort. We'd love to celebrate our time in school together and create lasting memories.
