We ask the Pasco, Richland, and Kennewick City Councils and Managers to take urgent action to keep Tri-Cities animal services (TCAS) operating as a shelter in its current form.
TCAS plays a vital role for all three communities. It gives lost and found pets a safe place to go, helps reunite animals with their families, and supports the basic care and protection that animals need while they wait to be claimed or placed. If this shelter is changed in a way that reduces its ability to serve the public, the people and animals in Pasco, Richland, and Kennewick will feel the harm quickly.
Keeping TCAS as a shelter is the most responsible path for the Tri-Cities right now. Our communities need a place that can continue to receive stray and found pets, provide a safe holding place, and give residents a clear, dependable service they can count on when a pet goes missing or is found.
We respectfully ask you to respond promptly and commit to resolving this matter in a way that protects TCAS as a shelter. A clear decision to continue the shelter as it is now will bring real and positive change for animals, pet owners, and the wider community.
The undersigned urge you to act now and keep TCAS a shelter for the Tri-Cities.
All animals deserve to be taken care. Its our responsibility to ensure their safety and health as they have no voice.
