I am creating this petition to have the city of Salinas removed Republic Services waste company from collecting out trash. This company is getting expensive with their waste collection fees! The City of Salinas needs to create their own Sanitation Department just like in the following cities: Fresno, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Jose and Watsonville. If the city of Salinas were to create their own Sanitation Department, the city will save money by keeping that money and cycling it to fund other programs and revenue for the city where the money should stay! Not having the city give that money away to third party vendors! And plus the city will create jobs for people.
