We are asking Seaspan management to end parking privilege based on seniority and replace it with a fair parking system for everyone.

A workplace parking system should not divide people or turn an everyday need into a reward for status. Right now, on any given day, a percentage of the workforce does not show up for work. That leaves many unused spots in fiberco and Pemberton, while additional lots become overcrowded. That is not a fair or practical way to manage parking.

Parking affects how people begin and end their workday. When access is based on seniority instead of a fair process, it leaves some workers with fewer choices and creates unnecessary frustration. It does not build a respectful workplace, and it does not solve problems in a lasting way. As this issue has shown, the attempt to create assigned parking did not mitigate any issues.

We believe fair parking should be simple, open, and reasonable. It should treat workers with equal respect and avoid favoritism. No one should have to feel pushed aside because they are newer, lower on a list, or less protected by custom.

We call on Seaspan and management to review the current system and replace seniority based parking privilege with a fair arrangement that works for all workers. A better process would reduce tension, improve morale, and show that everyone’s time and dignity matter.

Everybody deserves fair parking. We ask you to fix this now and put fairness ahead of privilege.

Not fair for workers in the Afternoon shift. No shuttle back to overflow parking after shift. This system does not work!

Seniority is not supposed to be used to give privileges to employees.

It isn't solving anything. Just making it worst and causing more stress and bad behaviors.
