The removal of the weekend semester has reduced flexibility for many students. Weekend semesters gave students an opportunity to improve their CGPA, clear backlogs, lighten their regular semester workload, and graduate with stronger academic records.
Many students rely on this option to recover from a difficult semester or balance academics with internships, projects, placements, or personal circumstances. Without it, students have fewer opportunities to improve their performance before graduation.
We respectfully request the VIT administration to reintroduce the weekend semester as an optional academic opportunity. This would:
- Allow students to improve their CGPA.
- Help students clear backlogs earlier.
- Reduce academic pressure during regular semesters.
- Support better placement prospects and higher studies.
- Provide greater flexibility without making it mandatory for anyone.
We understand that administrative and faculty considerations are important, but we believe that bringing back the weekend semester would greatly benefit the student community while remaining entirely optional.
We kindly request the administration to reconsider this decision and restore the weekend semester for the benefit of current and future students.
Weekend is very important because we are in currently 3rd year, and for sitting in placement,we need to complete a minimum number of credits,so please help us🙏🙏🙏
