We ask for the final year picnic for the class of 2026 to be reinstated, or for a clear and inclusive explanation if it cannot go ahead. Its cancellation has affected all final years, especially because this was the one thing many of us were looking forward to.
For students in their final year, small shared moments matter more than people may realize. A picnic is not just a day out. It is a chance to relax together, make memories, and close this chapter of school in a positive way. Cancelling it without any formal communication has left many of us feeling ignored and disappointed.
What makes this harder is that the decision does not feel inclusive. Something that affects the whole class should be handled in a way that respects the people it impacts. We should have been informed properly, and we should have had a chance to understand the reasons and be heard.
We are asking for fair treatment, open communication, and a decision that reflects the needs of the class of 2026. If the picnic can still happen, then please make it happen. If not, then at least give us the respect of a proper explanation. We simply want the final years to have the experience we were all looking forward to and deserve.
Hello hi. Firstly, i write this with the heaviest hearts. This final year picnic would have meant so much to all final years. Imagine working hard for an entire undergraduate degree, sacrificing family time, important dates and even greater opportunities besides school, only for you institution to just not acknowledge that. Not only is that a low blow from NWU, it really shows that this institution does not care or have the students best interest at heart and it's really shameful. Do better NW
