Current Student. I was never allowed to take her class due to me having dyslexia. So I want to make sure for students who want to take her class are able to.

Hello Principal Allen, my name is Sarah and I was part of the first graduating class of YWLA in 2016. I remember having Ms. Chen as my teacher fondly during my time there. She knew everyone's different learning styles and instead of having everyone fit into one mold, she gave us each the attention we needed and worked with us so we could efficiently and effectively learn. Ms. Chen made class so much fun, we sang and danced to Chinese songs, cooked classic dishes from Chinese culture, class became so much more than learning a language, it became a trip to another country. Please consider my attestation and others who have signed this petition to consider how removing Ms. Chen, removing Chinese from the school, will affect future and current students of the YWLA. Thank you!

Ms.Chen is an excellent teacher who works harder than most. Not only does she do her due diligence as a teacher but provides for her students and stays after school for her students as well. Ms.Chen goes above and beyond for thus school and her cherished students.

Less than a handful of schools in FWISD offer Chinese, which sets Young Women's apart from the others. Why are administrators making unnecessary changes? Administrators should support their teachers instead of destroying their many years of work.

delete YWLA Class of 2020
I took Chinese with Ms. Chen for 5 years while at YWLA. She is an amazing, hard working, and inspiring teacher. Ms. Chen has put so much love, time, and dedication to building up the Chinese department. This effort should be celebrated and supported, not stopped.

Although I took Spanish during my time at YWLA, I understand the importance that Ms. Chen holds. She is a honestly a treasure and I know her students love her tremendously. Taking Chinese away YWLA is taking away something that makes us so unique.

Not a former/current student, but I am Chinese (my parents are from Hong Kong and Macau). I think it is very useful to be able to learn Chinese, and I think it comes so in handy nowadays as it is definitely becoming a global language, if not one of the next lingua franca!
