DC & UOIT Students support the student proposed structural changes to the Student Association at Durham College & UOIT and are in opposition to hired VP system or a system that holds VP's solely accountability to the President of the organization.
Students want an accountable elected office that reports to the board of directors, that supports a President's voice and the ability to delegate to complete tasks, but not provide unilateral discipline. As well as a bottom to top advocacy development structure including all levels of on campus student government.
ive been hearing so many stories from you guys about how disconnect the current leadership feels right now. people are tired of a system where vps only answer to one person instead of the students they represent so we are drafting a formal proposal to show exactly how an elected accountable structure would work.

i cannot believe how fast this is moving. its so clear that everyone is tired of the current setup and ready for real change in how our student government operates.

The lack of accountability is honestly pathetic. We pay fees and we deserve a say in how the SA is structured. This proposal is common sense.

way too much power in one spot right now. change the structure and make it accountable to the board instead.

Finally someone said it. The current setup is just not working for us. We need leaders that actually listen to students not just the higher ups.
