The Yorkville Boundaries Committee will be presenting their findings to the School Board on April 13th. This petition is to show parent support for withholding from a vote for Option 1 (K Buildings) or Option 2 (K-1 Buildings) until further review and options are explored that include the movement and needs of 6th grade students and beyond. Growth of the Yorkville population is not an imminent problem in the next 1-2 years, which provides us the time to make a thoughtful, comprehensive decision for the entire district. It would be a mistake to move our youngest children, busing them up to 40-60 minutes each way a day, to a new school and asking them to transition during the times they crave stability. If you too would like the district to look for a more comprehensive plan, to have more answers for parents, and to not move our youngest students far away from their homes please sign this petition as a sign of support.
