We, the undersigned, wish to register our strongest objections to the proposal to close the public indoor bowls facility at Yate Leisure Centre. This represents an attack on the quality of life of all the existing users which include
- Frenchay Cardiac Support Group
- Probus
- South Gloucestershire Disability Action Group
- Yate Area 50+ Club
- Yate Indoor Bowls Club
We call upon the Circadian Trust (now responsible for the Centre) and its partner, South Gloucestershire Council, to abandon the proposal which has not even been the subject of any consultation with the existing users.

The bowls club is a lifeline for so many of us older folk in yate. where else are we supposed to go?
My father goes here every single week without fail. You are taking away the only social outlet these people have left. Shame on you.
The cardiac group relies on these sessions. It is about health and keeping active so why shut it down?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. We pay our taxes for these facilities and they just decide to take it away with zero talk to us. Keep it open!
Stop messing with our community spaces. The leisure centre is meant for everyone not just people who can afford private clubs.
