In light of the armed robbery in Harvard Yard on November 11 and other violent crime near university-owned residences, we ask that HUPD officers only allow those with Harvard IDs and their guests to enter the Yard when it's dark.

The stories coming in from students who no longer feel safe walking home at night are heartbreaking. I am currently organizing these testimonies to present to the administration because a simple advisory notice is not enough to protect us.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting off my chest because it proves people are finally seeing the same danger I do when I walk home at night. This level of consensus shows the university that our safety is not just a suggestion but a requirement.

Living right here and it's honestly getting scary to walk home at night. Just check the IDs already it takes two seconds.
