The city council officially dropped the restrictions on our yard sales. I honestly never thought we could change their minds but you all proved me wrong. Let's keep enjoying our weekends and just keep an eye out to make sure they stick to this.

I really thought this would just be a quiet local conversation between a few neighbors. Seeing so many people come together to protect our weekend sales leaves me feeling completely humbled.

Tucumcari needs more businesses in town why worry about garage sales that people enjoy. For some people in Tucumcari that is the extra money to feed their family or pay utilities. Tucumcari is dieing and they are worried about garage sales!?!? Something is wrong with that picture!
Due to limited income and stores in Tucumcari, I don't think it's feasible to be limiting garage sales to our residents nor eliminate second stores. However I do think they should clean up their signs and second hand stores to keep outside neat.
I have never heard of such a ridiculous thing in all the places I have ever lived. If there is a problem with signs everywhere then have an ordinance for the SIGNS. If there is a noise or traffic complaint then deal with THAT. I would think there are better uses for our time and energy.
Please don't limit yard sales in Tucumcari. I think getting a free permit for them is a great idea to help crack down on the people running them daily as businesses!
This ordinance is simply a ruse to make it more difficult for residents to have yard sales. I feel that yard sales are a part of this towns make up.

There is only seven or so on weekends, very few as it is. I really enjoy the few that we do have, please don't take them from us,and as you can see there is nothing else to do in this town to pass time .
