We, the undersigned, support a new ordinance for Bountiful Utah allowing residents to keep back yard chickens in residential zones.
We believe the following policies are reasonable and appropriate:
• limit the number of chickens allowed
• include measures to limit noise (no roosters)
• include measures to limit offensive odors
• restrict chickens to owners property
If you are a resident of Bountiful, please state that in your comment.
The Bountiful City Council thinks they can keep ignoring us while they hide behind outdated ordinances. I have been spending my nights digging through city code to show these bureaucrats that there is no logical reason to deny us the right to keep a few hens. We are not going away until they stop wasting our time and vote to change this law.

Backyard chickens not only allow people to produce their own eggs but they also can help reduce thousands of pounds of food scraps from ending up in landfills.

I support an ordinance amendment that allows for backyard chickens to allow for up to six.

I live in Bountiful and would love to have a few hens in my backyard for the kids. Fresh eggs are so much better than the store stuff plus its a great way to teach responsibility.
