Yamhill County is a distinct region of Oregon and shares few of the "Portland Metro" characteristics. As we near move further into the 21st century, it is becoming apparent that to include Yamhill County in the Portland Metro region of the RMLS continues to ignore the geographical, historical, cultural, and economic distinctions of Yamhill County, particularly as they impact the Real Estate markets. As a member of YCAR, OAR, NAR and RMLS, I support this initiative that will remove Yamhill County from the Portland Metro statistical region and have its own assignment as an independent region and have the RMLS create a Market Action report for Yamhill County just as it does for other regions.

been talking to a few local agents this week and its clear everyone is tired of the portland data skewing our actual market numbers. thanks for all the notes about how this is affecting your day to day work because it really helps me keep going with the pestering of the folks in charge.

im honestly amazed at this momentum because watching our community come together like this proves how much we need the rmls to finally recognize us as our own region. its clear people are tired of being lumped into the portland data when we have our own story to tell.

Should have been done along time ago along with several others areas. Why is Grand Ronde lumped in with all Polk County except Salem.
The only community that has any similarities to the Metro market, might be Newberg, as it is only 8 miles from Sherwood. However, Yamhill County as a whole, is not the same as the Metro Market, and is not the same as the Salem market. It is definitely a unique region and should have statistical data that reveals the activity of this region separately
This is definitely needed. The demand for Yamhill properties is such that it will help us serve our clients better.
As a long-time resident of Yamhill County, having witnessed the dramatic growth and what YC has become, I gladly offer up my support of this petition for the Real Estate professionals as a natural next step of progression.
I totally agree andI have tried getting this done for 15+ years. Please consider this since it does not cost any or much to initially perform and we should have the same right and representation as Salem and its various areas. Thank you

I've been an advocate for this for a quite a while. Even the local news channels now refer to "wine country" in their weather reports as a distinct area.
