we actually pulled it off and the source code is finally out. im honestly kind of shocked that it happened but massive thanks to everyone who pushed for this with me. keep an eye on the forums because custom roms are gonna get a whole lot better now.

Please release sources for the Redmi Note 4 (MTK) version. I would also appreciate the update to android 7.0 Nougat and MIUI to take advantage of the latest features on this excellent device.
Xiaomi is breaking the GPL license by not releasing the kernel source code for their devices including Redmi Note 4. This is technically against the law and I hope Xiaomi is not that kind of company that is uncaring to their customers. We hope you can solve this problem to set yourself on the road of becoming the world's largest smartphone manufacturer. Thank you.

We need this. It doesn't make any sense to purchase a phone with these specifications and this much money and not get android 7 on it. At least 7.
