This is a petition against the removal of the green steamroller from Wyndham park, Grantham.
The steamroller played an important part in our childhood, it holds many memories and really made the park stand out from others giving it character and something rememberable.
A child fell off and his parents sued the council and thus the steamroller was sadly taken away, children fall off swings, off slides, off climbing frames and out of trees, is the next plan of action to remove these and cut down all the trees
The steamroller should be put back in its rightful place so that future generations can enjoy it, and a part of Grantham's history is returned.
The council thinks they can just erase our history because they lack the backbone to defend our park. This surge of support proves they were dead wrong to think we would just go quietly.

I played on it, our children played on it, & I would like our grandchildren to play on it. We always stood close by, if the parents of the injured child had done the same maybe it wouldn’t have happened, children can get injured falling from a swing would swings then be taken out. Use common sense stay close avoid accidents

As a child my Grandad who lived on Signal Road would bring me to Wyndham Park. My favourite feature of the park and evokes wonderful memories. It should be returned to provide the same for local people young and old.

Health and safety gone mad again. If kids fall off then that is life. We didnt have all these ridiculous rules back when I was little and we were fine.

My kids grew up playing on that steamroller. It brings back such good memories. Why ruin it for everyone else just because of one accident?

Ridiculous decision to take it away. It was a local landmark and everyone loved it. Stop pandering to people who cant watch their own kids properly.
