Hey everyone, I require mass support. If you don't know me and to those of you who know me personally, or through attending out A-star Tuition centres...I need your support. I am hoping to set up THE FIRST EVER FOREST SCHOOL setting right here, within the heart of OLDHAM. I truly believe in the concept of Forest schools. A Forest School setting allows children to be physically active most of the time, improves their stamina and problem solving skills as they go through their forest school sessions.
Currently there is no such provision in Oldham. Focus on outdoor education is becoming increasingly popular. Outdoor education allows children to gain confidence and improve their self-esteem which is of paramount importance to their academic learning. This can also undoubtedly impact on their emotional, mental well-being and their strength as an individual. I wish there was something like this set up in Oldham when I was younger. I was thrown out of numerous school for 'behaviour' issues turns out i had a severe type of ADHD where I couldn't stand in enclosed spaces for long periods of time and would therefore lash out. I hope this can help other youngsters like me. One size does not fit all.
A friend just told me regarding this opportunity and I couldn't believe my ears! I have been dying for something like this to open in Oldham. I currently take my 4,7 and 9 year old children to Didsbury forest school-a 45 minute journey at the best of times. Im really happy to hear this, hears hoping it all goes well, wishing you tremendous luck!
As a father of 6 children, I struggle to find this type of setting in Oldham and have to travel out. This is very pricey for me to do and I would welcome this project on my doorstep with open arms. Thank you for your effort and may you get this!
As a teacher I've come across 'Forest School' in many schools in Oldham. It's such an amazing initiative in supporting the 'whole child' and allowing children to learn in an environment other than the classroom!
I think it's a fantastic idea. Some of our children come from disadvantaged backgrounds and need such añ environment and experience to thrice. Go for it neelam

I would like to get involved somehow in this project? I have vast experience in this field as a forestry practitioner for over 7 years.
I wish there was something like this set up in Oldham when I was younger.
