Driverless cars are not yet approved for open use on the roads, so why should a robot-computer controlled aircraft be any different when the stakes are up to 350 dead rather than less than a tenth of that number? So the question is - Would you fly in a BOEING 737 - 8 Max ??
The MCAS system can take over control from the pilot. It was added to the plane as a 'work around' to overcome a basic flaw in the design of the aircraft; the design made just to gain better fuel efficiency - and that is how much each of us 4.5 BILLION annual passengers are worth.
Boeing still refuse to take full responsibility. They hope that a better MCAS system and now, after the event, better pilot awareness and training will solve the problem.
For one of us - it surely wont. Why - because we still do not know whether the aircraft in question has other issues and likely between Boeing and the FAA we will NEVER know. I hope that there are more of you that will similarly not be convinced and that like me you will never fly on the aircraft. I would love to see which airline would sue a passenger for refusing to board unless they have offered free Life Insurance Policies along with each Boarding Pass and even that would not be enough.
The 737-8 Max should be returned to its original safe and proven design. Nothing less. If you watch the following '60 minutes' programme I am sure you will be horrified.

But what about the 189 people who died on Lion Air 610 and the 157 passengers who died on Ethiopian 302 ? Well it is high time that BOEING took FULL responsibility as well as the FAA and that jointly they should compensate the families of those who lost loved ones. And not by a small amount either. Those who approved the airworthiness of the 737-8 Max should face manslaughter charges and the same fate should apply to the designers who gave no thought to passenger safety when rushing to get an unsafe aircraft into the air to compete with the Airbus A 320 Neo.
To the pilots, crew and passengers of Lion Air 610 and Ethiopian 302, I hope that this petition will result in the severest consequences and penalties against the perpetrators of your deaths so that you will not have died in vain and that you may as a sad result help to save many lives in the future. You are unsung heroes. Your loss will not be forgotten nor can it nor will it be forgiven.
Please join me in a boycott of the Boeing 737-8 Max in its current form (with or without MCAS) and please support this petition for Boeing and the FAA to right a terrible wrong.
Thank you
This plane should be looked over independent examiners and cross criticized by AirBus engineers
