On June 8th, 2010, my husband and dad were killed in the Darrouzett pipeline explosion. During their investigation, NTSB found that there was no call to 811 prior digging nor did the company owning the pipeline mark it as required by federal law. It is our mission to see that stricter regulations and heavier fines are placed on companies that do not follow the laws put into place in order to save the lives of the men who work on and around these lines. These laws need to be enforced rather than just put into place.  These companies and large corporations are not being held accountable for their part in preventable safety hazards and rather than just paying fines, some other sort of punishment needs to be enforce.  "What's your loved one's life worth?"

The momentum behind this effort has grown significantly in recent weeks. It is heartening to see so many people recognize the urgent need for greater corporate accountability in pipeline safety. Your commitment to ensuring these preventable tragedies stop occurring provides vital encouragement for the work ahead.

So sorry for your loss. Nobody should loose a husband or dad because a company is too lazy to do their job right.

My heart breaks for you. These corporations treat safety like an inconvenience instead of a priority. They need to be hit where it hurts because obviously the small fines dont stop them.

How many more families have to lose everything because some company wants to save a buck? This is just cruel.

811 is there for a reason. Ignoring it is reckless and negligent. Lock them up.

Total incompetence. My brother works on these lines every day and he deserves to come home to his family.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Fines are just a cost of doing business to them. They need to face real consequences for killing people!
