I think that is would be fantastic to have chickens in Woodstock. It would allow people to have more control over what they eat {they know how it's raised, what it's eaten in it's life, etc.} and it's more economical to grow your own than buy it at the store.

Backyard hens make sense! So many people are working to eat in more healthful ways and to eat more locally. Home egg production and gardening are great ways to advance these goals. Backyard hens fit with the ideals so many are striving for. I think a backyard hen ordinance would reflect well on Woodstock, a city that has a great Farmer’s Market and has been making steps toward becoming more “green.” Backyard hens are a great fit for Woodstock!!!

As owners if the B& B, we use about 5-9doz eggs each week. We'd love a chance to supply our own organic eggs.

I am for people having a small flock of chickens in that city limits of woodstock. I barely live in city limits and because a neighbor called the city on me they're saying I need to get rid of my flock (4). I don't have any roosters just eggs that we enjoy and are far healthier for us than store bought.
