Backyard Hens For Woodstock, IL

We just moved to town and would love to have chickens! We had several chickens on 3 acres in West Virginia, but here on our 1/3 acre lot we are thinking maybe 3. Chickens eat many insects including mosquitoes, flies, ticks and Japanese beetles. The eggs are way more nutritious than store bought. The dried manure straw (not smelly if handled properly) is excellent fertilizer for the garden.

Make it happen I want chickens

I adore organic gardening and have wanted chickens for years to decrease the bugs that eat up my beds. Also love having fresh eggs and have always loved chickens in general. Sweet creatures. Hopefully Woodstock gets with the times and follows neighboring towns that allow hens.

Chickens are less of a nuisance than most domestic pets!

Woodstock, please show your support of sustainable living by allowing backyard hens . They are wonderful, easy to care for pets that also provide eggs and fertilizer, while reducing insect pests and weeds. Towns that have recently lifted this ban have found they have little to no complaints and overall have viewed this as a positive change.

Clearly chickens should be allowed in Woodstock. They're great for a million reasons.

Everywhere you go in the world you see chickens in peoples yards. Every country I’ve been to. Much healthier raising your own and have fresh hormone free eggs.
