More resources to the area to justify the drastic jump.

Enough is enough; water increases, electricity and now substantial rates increases, Cape Town residents are clearly taken for milk cows, for no service in return! The street are not being cleaned, parks / public areas are not maintained, no traffic, parking planning with regards to new developments being built etc. It’s all about greed, it’s a disgrace

I'm from OBS but have same problem. I'm now paying more for my rates than I ever paid for my bond. It's totally unfair. I've been living in OBS for over 20 years, am a single mom with limited income and cannot afford to live in my house anymore. I am in a dispute with the city to get my rates reduced, they kindly cut off my water (thanks cofct .. you'll never get my vote again). Stand up and fight money grabbing cofct

I complain about the no service delivery in Kitchener road. Roads are NEVER cleaned yet we pay for it.

The new property evaluations in Woodstock are in line with other more affluent suburbs in Cape Town. The other more affluent suburbs receive services such as regular cleaning of their streets and parks, including storm water drain cleaning. The evaluations are also based on properly maintained and renovated houses. The large number of derelict buildings in Woodstock would bring down the average market price of houses in Woodstock. Is this taken into account when calculating market value?

Dave, is a joke and any one voting for the DA in the next local election need to have to see a shrink. He is completely inept and doesn’t not respond to any of the issues pertaining to his Woodstock Ward, His excuse to me in an email is that he has too much on his plate. If you vpcant stand the heat get out of the kitchen Dave,

The rates increase is not based in fact, ie., the current market values. Our properties have been hugely overvalued by the city. And the rates cannot be supported or imposed.

Clean the streets and parks and empty stands before asking for more money.

Ridiculous increase, more than double the previous increase, with no changes or alterations (improvements) to our property or surrounding area.

I join my neighbours in shock over the recent inflated property evaluations and call for a fair reassessment to be conducted across the neighbourhood

Rates paid are not going back into the area, in fact over the last years resources available to Woodstock have decreased, while exorbitant rates and gentrification of the area have forced people to leave - community used to have access to a soccer field which has been privatised; pool was closed, Poor water management has resulted in water levy etc.

Need clean drains, weed pavements, clean street gutters, broken pavements, more bins on Victoria Road and emptied every day, anti litter signage outside fast food takeaways etc
