Women's Suffrage is not taught in Georgia's schools, and it is an outrage. Those women worked incredibly hard for their right to vote, and the people, especially young women and girls, need to know that these women overcame so much, and they can overcome challenges in their lives as well. Also, the curriculum says that Georgia fifth graders are supposed to learn about Women's suffrage in Social Studies, but no one i have spoken to remembers it. Also, the only person fifth graders were supposed to learn about was Susan B. Anthony. She was an important person, but the people that did the most and made the most impact and difference were Alice Paul, Inez Milholland, Ruza Wenslawsca, Lucy Burns, and Doris Stevens. So, if we are even going to spend a moment talking about suffrage in our schools, we should learn about the people who made the most difference.
