To the municipality of The Hague

We, the students in The Hague, are aware of the fact that women still face specific challenges due to their sex in the professional world. The absence of women in high leadership positions, pay inequality and gender-based discrimination in entering the workforce are haltering the entrance and career development of many young professionals.

This tendency is not unique to the Hague but affects it regardless.

We realize that we need to develop professional skills that are not taught in university but will be crucial in our careers.

For this reason specifically, we have created the association Women in Innovation and Leadership which is a collaborative space and an ambitious and supportive community in the heart of The Hague. By providing workshops, public talks and networking events we contribute to the empowerment of students and promote collaboration among young professionals and experienced leaders. We strongly believe that in order to unfold the potential that exist in all of us, we should access the invaluable experiences, knowledge and networks that the professionals in the Hague hold. Moreover, we believe in the value of learning from each other’s know-how and experiences and would, therefore, appreciate your support in making the link between the aspiring young professionals and skilled and experienced leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators in the city.

We believe that the first Dutch Female tech accelerator, led by Saida van Kalsbeek and Elles Achterhof, will provide a practical realisation of our aforementioned requirements.
