WINGS (Women IN Great Sciences) is a broad network aimed at women at the Science faculty, Medical faculty, Engineering faculty at Lund University and related industries. We focus on research, career and networking. The members of the network are female scientists that are employed as researchers working in or outside the university. Also, beyond support to the members, WINGS reaches widely across faculties to support career development and develop mentoring programs.
Currently, 60% of our members are from the Medical Faculty and LTH. However, to date we are only funded by the Faculty of Science. Despite several applications and reports sent to the Medical Faculty and LTH, they haven't been willing to support us financially. If we do not receive funding from these faculties soon, we are faced with the unfortunate decision to have to close WINGS to members outside the Science Faculty.
Do you feel it is important to support female researchers in their careers, advocate and promote gender equality? We will hand in this petition as a last-ditch attempt to implore the Medical Faculty and LTH to listen to their own employees.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response this has received and I truly never thought it would move this quickly. This momentum belongs entirely to all of you who believe in the future of WINGS.

The cross faculty aspect is very important for Wings, it would be sad not to see it continue!
WINGS has really gained momentum and inspiration through the women in medicine and LTH. This is a very positive development for WINGS, but also for those female researchers.
This must be of high priority if the university is going to meet the goals of the strategic plan to promote gender equality!
WINGS being a great platform to enhance in gender equality in the field of science and research, I think it is important to support them together as a scientific community rather to evade from this responsibility.
WINGS is a very important platform for the persnoal and professional development of researchers. As a member of LTH and being member of WINGS since 2012, I believe it would be most natural for the Medical and Engineering faculties to support such network.

Wings är en viktig pusselbit i arbetet för jämställdhet på LTH. Här kan forskare och andra hitta inspiration och kunskap när det gäller jämställdhet, karriär och mycket annat. Om LTH vill ta jämställdhetsarbetet på allvar så är ett långsiktigt stöd till Wings en ypperlig möjlighet att göra detta. Wings är en fungerande och välorganiserad organisation som gör ett stort arbete. Det skulle vara svårt för LTH att genomföra liknande arbete utan dessa eldsjälar.
