The undersigned encourages the Hutchinson County Commissioners Court to commit to protecting the general welfare of the county through the enforcement of laws prohibiting obscenity, indecency and sexual-oriented businesses while preserving constitutionally protected forms of expression. The undersigned believe that sexually-oriented businesses in certain locations contribute to neighborhood deterioration and blight through an increase in crime and diminution of property values, among other adverse consequences, and believe that such results are contrary to the general welfare of the citizens of the county. The undersigned believe that important and substantial governmental interests provide a constitutional basis for responsible regulation of the time, place and manner under which sexually-oriented businesses operate; and that, therefore, the Commissioners Court should determine that persons seeking to operate sexually-oriented businesses shall be required to observe specific location requirements before they commence business. The undersigned believe that the licensing of sexually-oriented businesses is necessary to protect the general welfare of Hutchinson County.
The momentum behind this effort has grown quiet but steady as we push for these basic protections for our county. It is exhausting work to keep explaining why our neighborhoods deserve better standards. I am tired of the pushback but I am not planning to stop now.

A disgrace to a community that already has the highest divorce rate per population in the US (New York and Buffalo Times), not to add the increase of the already astonishing MVAs on hwy 136. Perfect, now after leaving the Creek Bar they can drive drunk to the Wizards!
