We totally oppose the proposed development of 160 houses by Hallam Land Management on the land between Mansfield Rd and the A61 at Winsick.If this development is allowed it will see the already bad traffic situation through Hasland increase to totally unmanageable proportions. This will impact badly on the businesses and shops within Hasland centre.We also feel that that local schools will struggle to accommodate such a big influx to the population and will create many problems getting local children in to schools they wish to attend. Doctors and Dental surgeries will also struggle, as an increase in patients will make harder for locals to be seen. I have been walking past that field thinking about how the traffic will choke our village if these plans go forward. The comments coming in from neighbors confirm that we all share the same fears about our schools and doctors being stretched beyond their limits.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that my neighbors and I are not alone in fearing for the future of our local schools and surgeries. It feels validating to know that so many people understand why we cannot let this development destroy the character of Hasland.

It would be a gross error to populate an already highly populated area. The services could not sustain further development. Our green sites and the Eco - system they sustain are precious. I ask the council to look at the empty buildings and make good/ alternative use of them.
LEAVE OUR GREEN BELT ALONE. We moved here for the space not to live in a concrete maze. Sort out the potholes and congestion before even thinking about new houses.
The traffic around Hasland is already a nightmare during school runs. Adding 160 houses here is just madness. Where are these people supposed to go for a doctor.
Why build on fields when there are so many brownfield sites sitting empty in Chesterfield? Makes no sense at all.
Resident of Winsick for 20 years. The roads simply wont cope with the extra cars. Hasland cant handle the pressure on schools and services as it is.

I am A Chesterfield resident and feel that this development will lead to a huge increase in traffic as well as building in an already over populated area. It would surely be a far better option to refurbish vacant historic buildings that are considered at risk, or redeveloping brownfield sites such as the Clay Cross Company, the Avenue Works and Coalite (all proposed). These three major sites between them would go a long way towards meeting housing land without exerting pressure on the natural environment.
